Situated down a half mile quiet farm road, Butterfly Fields offers the discriminating adult guest the opportunity to enjoy a secluded country lifestyle just minutes away from Washington, D.C., Annapolis, and Baltimore, Maryland.  Butterfly Fields Bed and Breakfast offers peace and quiet to the person looking to get away from it all, yet wants access to a bustling city life.  Enjoy the warmth and friendly atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind agrotourism destination.  Featuring a country setting, acres of organic gardens, a resident potter, and a licensed massage therapist, Butterfly Fields offers a truly special experience for any traveler.

This one of a kind B&B offers large common rooms and guest room accommodations custom built by your innkeeper, Dan Ells.  Going Green isn't new to your hosts - Dan Ells designed and built this unique passive solar-heated home in the early 1980s and his wife Lynda is an avid all natural organic gardener.  In fact, Butterfly Fields is so unique, it's been featured on NBC's "Going Green" segment with Wendy Rieger, the Travel Channel, area newspapers, and the magazine What's Up? Annapolis.  Visit our In The News page to see video and print articles about Butterfly Fields.  Then, come experience this special pastoral paradise for yourself!

Relaxing on any one of the many outside decks of the main house provides guests with the chance to savor the surrounding pastoral farm lands and woods that completely surround Butterfly Fields farm.  Walking along the garden paths gives our guest a chance to experience the varied fragrances of flowers, fruit trees, grape arbors, planting beds, and trellises, all part of the extensive gardens that encircle our home.

While out walking the grounds, the guest will find their way to Goose at the Door Pottery, adjacent to our horse barn. Here guests can browse your host Lynda's artistic creations, many of which are available for purchase.

If rest and relaxation is on your agenda, an in room massage may be the answer.  In addition to being a potter, your host Lynda is also a licensed massage therapist Pre-arranged appointments are preferred, but short notice requests are welcomed.  Gift Certificates are available and make wonderful gifts.  To purchase them, click here.
